Here I am. My name won’t be very hard to figure out thinking of the name of the blog, but I’ll introduce myself anyways – I’m Evelin. You might think that the spelling is a little bit odd, but there’s an explanation to it. You see, I am a little bit odd.. And also (mainly), I’m not from the US. I’m half Norwegian/half Swedish and I just recently moved to the US.
I live with husband C and a giant cat named Oscar in Hawaii, The Big Island. Since the move over here in June 2012 I’ve grown to really like it here. Coming from a place far up north with long dark winters I’ve always been a sun junkie and tend to take every chance I get to soak it up. It’s easy here in Hawaii. And it’s also really beautiful and there’s a friendly warm community to be a part of here.
I started this blog after falling madly in love with running. I actually first started a twitter account but quickly realized that I’d like to write more about running then what Twitter would let me so WordPress was my next step. As I’m sure you’ve already noticed I blog mainly about running but there’s times when life takes me on trips which I just can’t stay away from mentioning here.
My running story:
At the age of 29 years and a bunch of months I finally got out there. I put on my beat up shoes and got out on a 2,4K short run, in mid May 2012. I can’t say that the first one was really enjoyable, but sure enough I went out on another run.. And another.. And another.. And I did like it. In fact, in a few weeks I started loving my time out on the streets running. Who would’ve thought that I, of all people, would become a runner?!
So here I am: a few months later, in a different part of the world, still putting my shoes on (not the old beat up ones anymore, I actually decided to spare myself and get new ones) on at least three times a week to go out running. And I am still loving every second of it!
If you’d like to get in contact with me please feel free to comment on the blog, tweet me (@evelinruns) or send me an email (address: evelinruns [at] gmail [dot] com). I look forward to hear from you!
